A Class A and C fire-retardant option is available this product.

The Rio is designed with a finer tip, which more closely resembles the coconut palm tree.

INSTALLATION

  • To be nailed or screwed, leaves only (no rails)
  • Minimum of 8 leaves per square meter
  • 12,5 cm spacing between rows
  • Installation in quincunx 2/1
  • First 2 rows must be stacked to give appearance of thickness along the roof’s edge

Aloha leaf types offers two distinct technical advantages: full and effective exterior coverage in any weather, plus an exposed underside providing a more traditional aesthetic from the inside that proves popular in many countries.

These roofing products provide exceptional storm-resistance, wind-resistance and are waterproof.

A fire-retardant option is also available for this product.

The Aloha is designed with a finer tip, which more closely resembles the coconut palm tree.

ACCESSORIES

Palmex roofing thatch product line includes patented accessories recommended to ensure a proper installation and for aesthetic reasons. They also provide an extra protection against water infiltration and high winds.

Hips and valleys: to cover external angles and valleys as well as eaves and gable ends

  • Linear ridges: to cover linear top of gable and hip roofs
  • Round ridges: to cover the top of round and square roofs
  • Wind clips: used in high wind and hurricane zones
  • Staples: stainless steel crown staples, 980 staples per box

INSTALLATION

Hips and valleys: 

  • External angles and valleys: one hip every other row, starting from the bottom to the top of the roof.
  • Eaves and gable ends: half of one hip on each row, starting from the bottom to the top of the roof.

Linear ridges: screw or nail the ridge to the central and vertical beams with a 5” / 13 cm overlapping side by side.

Round ridges: screw or nail the ridge to the top of the central post and vertical beams.

Wind clips: insert the clip into the rail of Aloha/Bora Bora leaves and screw it to the rafters with the clip. Use two clips per leaf. Optional: can be screwed to Rio/Domingo leaves (no rails).

  • Our 1x lumber is #1 common grade, .25 CCA treated for above ground contact, and KDAT (Kiln Dried After Treatment) so it can be stained or painted right away.
  • Our 2x lumber is #1 common grade; .25 CCA treated for above ground contact. Air dried to minimize weight and surface mould.
  • Our 4×4, 4×6, and 6×6’s are .60 CCA treated for below ground contact.
  • Any combination of treatment, grade, and size is available by order.
